Grilled Tortilla Pizza Margherita

A quick and easy twist on the classic Margherita pizza using flour tortillas as the crust. Perfect for a summer barbecue or a simple weeknight dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 8-10 fresh basil leaves
  • 2-3 ripe tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Warm up the grill over medium-high heat

Use olive oil to cover one side of each tortilla

Put the tortillas on the grill grates with the oil side down

Cook for two to three minutes, or until they have grill marks and are a little crispy

Take the tortillas off the grill and put them on a clean surface with the cooked side facing up

On each tortilla, put half of the tomato sauce

Spread the mozzarella cheese shreds out evenly on top of the sauce

Put the tomato slices on top of the cheese

Then add the fresh basil leaves and minced garlic

Add pepper and salt to taste

After the tortillas are ready, put them back on the grill and cook for another three to five minutes, or until the cheese melts and the edges get crispy

When the tortilla pizzas are done, carefully take them off the grill and let them cool for one minute before cutting them

You should serve your Grilled Tortilla Pizza Margherita hot and enjoy it
