A quick and easy version of the traditional Senate Bean and Ham Soup that doesnt skimp on flavor by using canned beans. Great for a warm meal on a chilly day.
Ingredients:
- 1 15 oz can navy beans, undrained
- 1 15 oz can northern beans, undrained
- 1 15 oz can black beans, undrained
- 1 15 oz can pinto beans, undrained
- 1 15 oz can kidney beans, undrained
- 1 15 oz can Great Northern beans, undrained
- 2 cups diced cooked ham
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1 cup diced carrots
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1 cup diced potatoes
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
In a large pot, combine all the ingredients
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally
Serve hot and enjoy
